Mesmo com o mau tempo de inverno, o Presidente Federal Karl Carstens não interrompe a sua marcha a pé através da República Federal da Alemanha. Há pouco tempo, ele e um considerável número de acompanhantes atravessaram a Luneburger Heide, um dos parques naturais mais bonitos da Alemanha, ao norte desse país. Ao tomar posse de seu cargo de presidente, a 1º de julho de 1979, Karl Carstens, que gosta de fazer longas caminhadas, prometeu atravessar toda a República Federal da Alemanha, de norte a sul -“em etapas, claro” como disse naquela ocasião. A primeira etapa de um quarto de 1000 km, o presidente acaba de realizar, numa incansável marcha a pé! (ika) – SB 10/80/20-2-80 – INP-Foto/AP”
